A fatal collision between two vehicles on the Northway in Clifton Park, NY on December 1, 2012 left Chris Stewart and Deanna Rivers dead. Rivers and Stewart, both 17, were riding in an SUV on Northway with Bailey Wind and Matthew Hardy late at night when the SUV was hit from behind by Dennis Drue’s vehicle.

Police said that Drue was driving at least 75 mph and had swerved across three lanes of traffic when the accident happened. Stewart and Rivers were in the backseat of the SUV and were ejected when it rolled over. They died from their injuries after being taken to nearby hospitals and Wind and Hardy were treated for nonfatal injuries. Drue was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol but was not arrested immediately as the case is still being investigated. One news source mentioned that Drue was returning from a restaurant with his family, but details remained to be confirmed.
