Local news reports in Beaumont, TX stated that an accident along Cardinal Drive in Beaumont left two people injured, including one man in a coma. Police reported that 44-year old Robert Pastorella was under the influence of alcohol when he struck a motorcycle with his Honda Accord on June 17, 2012 at about 2:48 in the morning. Sources said that of the two people on the motorcycle, one man was identified as Douglas Dommert and was listed as in a coma at the St. Elizabeth Hospital. The other passenger was identified only as a woman.

According to official reports, Dommert and the woman were riding on a Harley Davidson motorcycle, headed south along Cardinal Drive, when Pastorella’s Accord struck the rear of the bike. Both Dommert and the unnamed woman were sent into a ditch and suffered severe head trauma. Neither rider was wearing a helmet, sources said. Police stated that Dommert was arrested for intoxication assault arrested. There were no details about the woman’s condition available.
