One Killed in Suspected Hope Township, Michigan Alcohol Related Accident

Officials from the Michigan State Highway Patrol have not yet identified the individual killed in a road accident in Hope Township, MI on Sunday, June 9th, 2013. Authorities currently have reason to believe that one as-of-yet unidentified individual that was killed when the motorcycle they operated was struck by a pickup truck that police estimate was backing out of a driveway on Highway 43. The driver consequently fled the scene.

The report does not explicitly clarify if the individual was killed instantly in the accident, or if he was possibly transported by emergency response personnel to a nearby hospital where an update on his condition was not made immediately available by hospital staff. Police believe alcohol is a factor in the accident, but have not revealed how they came to this determination. The investigation into the accident remains active and ongoing by personnel from both local and state agencies.
